Wedding Venue & Location
Our wedding was at Copdock Hall in Ipswich and it was the most magical day.
Brides come to me seeking something original and often choose to tweak (either a little or a lot) one of my existing designs, creating a veil which is unique to them. Sinead chose a bespoke version of the April veil.
How did the proposal happen?
Ryan invited me to the beach one evening and had spelt out “Will you marry me” in candles! We had had our first kiss on that very beach. How could I refuse?!
Where did you meet?
We met on Tinder in August 2014. I fell for Ryan’s pictures, him at his brothers wedding looking so handsome, and also dressed in Harry Potter robes! I knew on our first date that Ryan was the man I would marry, can’t tell you why, just a feeling I had.
We got engaged just 7 months after meeting and falling head over heels in love.
Any random, quirky or just plain lovely facts about your relationship, engagement or wedding?
We are both huge Harry Potter fans so there were touches of magic throughout the day such as floating candles from the ceiling, love potion favours and Honeydukes sweet shop!
What I loved about buying my veil from Heather was the fact I hadn’t found any veils in wedding shops that I liked. I wanted something of a statement but didn’t want something with sequins or too full around my head. I also loved that heather was only 10 minutes down the road from me as I am such a believer of supporting small local businesses. My veil was everything I dreamed of and went so well with my lace dress.
Our wedding day was very windy so the veil was shown off beautifully!! Thank you Heather for creating something so special to me.
I have a big airy studio in Colchester, Essex where you can make an appointment to come along and have a chat, see the collection of veils and sashes and have a try-on to see which works best. I have made accessories for brides all over the world including America, Japan, Australia, Sweden, France and Scotland and if you are not close enough to pop in, we can chat via email or Skype. I am always very happy to post out samples and sketches too so you can ensure the colour and fabric is exactly right before I post your veil or sash out to you.
